It’s a bold absinthe, demands your attention with its spiciness and unapologetic wormwood which wraps around your tongue like a slip.
This was one of my favourites as soon as I tried it months ago and it still pleases me now. Refreshing and bold, and I recommend four parts water to one part Eichelberger 68 Limitée. I drink this without sugar, but it is a perfect candidate for a cube or two, if that’s how you like your absinthe.

Cheers!

They’re about a year (or more!) old, so I’m guessing that they would’ve been better fresh, but the dark chocolate was appropriately sharp in flavour and the insides were a little sugar-gritty. That’s probably due to them being a bit old. I didn’t notice anything that struck me specifically of absinthe, but there was a light alcohol flavour.

I may have to order some absinthe chocolates to get a better taste of them in a fresher state.

Smooth, wormwoody, and a beautiful louche. The thoughts around the table were that this vintage absinthe tastes similar in character to a bottle of 2002 Francois Guy that we were also enjoying, but truly, this vintage Spanish absinthe is the kind of balanced flavour and scent that you’d consider selling a kidney to afford more.

Bottles of the vintage absinthe Absenta Argenti 68% are still available in limited quantities from Oxygénée at a price of £595 per intact bottle.

More about this absinthe soon. I took plenty of ‘proper’ photos of this sample, but I really liked the effect on this simple iPhone shot, so I thought I’d go ahead and post it. I used Camerabag and Photogene applications to post-process the original shot.

A few good things about the clip: he tries to clear up thujone myths and fire rituals, has some solid information, and he has a good sense of humour regarding his French pronunciations. (Hell, I’m not much better! )
Also, he mentions Wormwood Society and The Absinthe Review Network.

Overall, I think he’s done a pretty good job. What do you think?
